Minimum Requirements
 
Essential Educational and professional qualifications

Job Purpose
 
To supervise civil contractors and construction work in Northern Kenya to ensure that the construction work is completed safely, on time within the budget and adhering to the Client’s standards.

Job Specification
Supervise the operations of contractors on site to ensure that the Client receives value for money and quality in accordance to contract specification, applicable industry codes, standards, and industry wide best practice.
 
Areas covered include design, construction, operation and maintenance of:
  • Well sites and camp sites
  • buildings
  • Access roads
  • airstrips
  • Water wells and pipelines
  • Water treatment and wastewater handling systems
Provide reports and supporting information to Field Civil Coordinator, ensuring that the reports, records, timesheets, and invoices are up to date and properly filed
 
Provide direction to contractors and assist them plan utilization of their resources between projects to optimize work schedules.
 
Assist the Field Engineers and Contractors formulate construction plans, work methods that will improve efficiency and productivity on site and daily activity schedules that are realistic and workable and will help achieve desired results

The job holder’s key responsibilities will be to:

Testing, Troubleshooting and 3rd line Support
  • Create test plans, test data sets and perform automated testing to ensure all components of the developed systems meet specifications;
  • Work directly with the IT support personnel and teams to resolve issues identified and escalated during daily operations;
  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring incidents;

  • Generation of ideas to improve efficiency in software and application services offered to the business, and/or generate revenue for business;

Minimum Requirements
  • Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or technical related field;
  • Oracle Certified Developer;
  • Certification in RDBMS;
  • 3 years development experience with development tools e.g. Java ;
  • 3 years development experience with low level programming C++, C.;
  • 3 years’ experience RDMS preferably Oracle, MS SQL Server;
  • 3 years’ experience in data warehousing, business analysis, knowledge in Business Systems modeling and data retrieval;
  • 4GL for programming - Visual Basic/Oracle Application builder;
  • SAS/SPSS Data Mining experience will be an added advantage;

Job Description

Reporting to the Assistant Director Property Services, this position is responsible for;
    Ensuring daily maintenance, repair, and operation of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building automation systems, elevators, pumps, generators, and lighting are well executed;
Designing and implementing maintenance changes and improvements in specific areas to support various events.
    Ensuring project deadlines are met while maintaining compliance with current good practices, environmental health and safety (EHS) guidelines and any other regulations that could apply. Focus is on facility and equipment availability and reliability;
    Ensuring materials are availed at the work site and monitor its consumption;
    Ensuring all structural projects are undertaken to the requirements as per specifications;
    Preparing of documentations for structural projects for acquisition of permission needed from the various government agencies;
    Training and development of the Engineering personnel;
    Preparing performance reports of staff members under his/her supervision;
    Any other duties as assigned.
