Food Security & Livelihoods Advisor

1 position based in Nairobi with field travel.


One year contract with possibility of extension if additional funding is secured.

You will be responsible for ensuring all food security and livelihoods programming is of excellent technical quality; Fundraising through attracting significant donor funding; contributes significantly to national/global learning, advocacy and programme development.

The post holder is expected to provide technical advice and support to project staff to ensure programming objectives are successfully achieved.

For this role, you’ll need to have 5 years of operational & strategic experience in food security and livelihood programming, alongside a post graduate qualification in Agriculture, Natural Resources Management, Agricultural Economics or in any other related subject.

Your knowledge of food security and livelihoods in both development and emergency contexts, and exceptional ability to influence in an advisory capacity will ensure good quality implementation for beneficiaries and donors, organizational learning and contribution to broader policy analysis.

Field Agricultural Officer Job Nairobi Kenya.

Job Key Responsibilities
SuperviseField Officers and entire staff working in the region in procurement of rawproduct.
Regulate raw product procurement to the levels required by the Company inallocated region.
Handle customer complaints within the region.
Ensure that product procured meets the quality standards of the company.
Ensure continuous update on new developments within the industry withparticular regard to quality and
 
product management.
Organize and participate in Company field days and any other forums, so as todisseminate information to farmers.
Ensure that this is within set cost at all times.
Oversee and ensure smooth operations within the allocated areas
Ensure control of expenditure in the region
Oversee staff management and discipline
Submit daily, weekly and monthly reports and explain any variances.
Education and Experience
Theideal candidate should:
Be a Degree holder in Agriculture or related field.
Have 5 years experience in a similar role
Have good management skills
Possess good knowledge and understanding of Dairy farming
Excellent computer and reporting skills
Be a good communicator, and have analytical and problem solving skills
Have tact, with ability to handle suppliers and customers

Agri-Business Relationship Officers - Marketing

The Position

Reporting to the General Manager Agri-business the role holder will beresponsible for the promotion of our Agri-business products and servicesthrough our branch network.
Key Responsibilities

Promotion of agri-business products and services in all agri-business valuechains.
Identifying agri-business customer needs, building and maintainingrelationships with the players in the agri-business sector and advising on thebest products and services for such relationships.
Harnessing of agricultural information from relevant agri-business databases;research centers and organizations including analysis of the agri-businesstrends and translate it into business for the sector.
Coordinate and implement promotional activities including field days,agricultural Shows and exhibitions within their regions.
Developing business proposals and presentation to the stakeholders inagri-business.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

A university degree or diploma in Agri-business Management, AgriculturalEconomics, Animal Production, Range Management, Agricultural Extension andEducation, Horticulture and Agro forestry from a recognized University.
At least 2 years work experience in a similar position in the NGO/ public orprivate sector.
Experience in marketing of Agri-business products.
Computer proficiency

Good analytical skills
Good customer service skills
Strong communication and negotiation skills
