Assistant Maintenance Supervisor

( Mechanical) (Ref: MKTB/HRM/5-006/13)

Duties and Responsibilities.
 

  • Drawing of bill of quantities for projects. 
  • Assisting in project installation as and when required.
  • Monitoring and implementing preventive maintenance schedules and plans for plant and equipments.
  • To guide and monitor the implementation of safety standards and practises as set out in the SHEQ systems requirements.
  • Ensuring safe custody and accountability of tools and spares allocated to the section.
  • Initiating spares purchase requisitions in respect of all mechanical works in the plant.
  • To provide effective supervision to sectional staff and ensure all work meets set requirements.
  • To ensure the section meets internal and external audit requirements.
  • To provide necessary input in the budgeting process and enhance cost control practises

Requirements.

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical). 
  • At least 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment as a mechanical engineer.
  • Experience in ISO ( SHEQ) systems will be an added advantage.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft office computer applications.
  • Heavy Commercial Driver. (Trailer) (REF: MKTB/HRM/5-007/13)
    Must possess the following:
  • O’ level certificate ( Grade C- or above) 
  • A valid driving license.
  • A minimum 5 years continuous driving experience with trailers.
  • A valid certificate of good conduct.
  • Forklift Operator (Ref: MKTB/HRM/5-008/13)
  • Must possess the following;
  • O’ level certificate ( Grade C- or above)
  • Valid license for operating articulated machines.
  • A minimum 3 years continuous experience in operating forklifts in a busy environment.
  • A valid certificate of good conduct.
Merit in qualifications will form the basis of selection.Candidates who do not meet above qualifications should not apply.

Reporting To: Team Leader Integrations

Job Location: Nairobi

Key Areas of Responsibility
* Creates and executes software integration plans
* Conduct scientific POC like integrations and/or evaluations to establish formal integrations strategies and roadmaps.
* Participate in the design of general integration strategies and propose/develop specific point integrations within the general framework.
* Ensure all designs are version-proof as integrated products follow their own roadmaps/life cycles.
* Working with product management, exercise influence (as much as possible) on 3rd party roadmap evolutions.

Required Skills and Competencies
Academic Qualifications:
* Advanced Diploma in Computer Science, IT or other related qualifications from a reputable Educational Institution
* Degree qualifications in Computer Science or related field will be an added advantage.

Experience:
* 1+ years experience in software development, including participation in enterprise-class projects
* Hands-on working experience with or extensive knowledge of several of the following integration protocols:

1. SOAP-based APIs
2. RESTful or XML-based APIs
3. ISO8583 APIs
4. Sockets Communication APIs

Specific Knowledge & Skills Requirements:
* Strong proficiency in Java and one or more scripting languages.
* A solid understanding of database concepts and experience writing software that utilizes database interaction.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to thoroughly document the design of new software and maintain documentation throughout the lifecycle (e.g. specification documents, object models, class diagrams, state flows, etc.)

Experience:

* Good understanding of Object oriented programming and good understanding of the following programming languages Java, OOP PHP (Python is an added advantage)
