Note: For Air Traffic Control Officer – Trainees, the opportunity is open to both male and female candidates who have recently completed their studies and have no working experience. Female candidates are encouraged to apply. No salary will be paid to any trainee during the entire training period.

Five (5) Posts
Applications are invited from suitably qualified serving officers to fill thefollowing posts in this Ministry. All posts are on Permanent andPensionable terms of Service.
Salary Scales: Ksh.21,304 - Kshs 25,895 (P.M)
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, officer must have:-
i) Served in the grade of Chief Driver, (Job Group‘H’) for a minimum period of three (3) years,
(ii) Passed Occupational Trade Test Grade I forDrivers;
(iii) A valid Driving licence free from any currentendorsement(s) for class(es) of vehicle (s) the officer is required to drive;
(iv) Defensive Driving Certificate from theAutomobile Association (AA) of Kenya or its equivalent qualification from arecognised Institution;
(v) Attended a Refresher Course for driverslasting,not less than one (1) week within every three (3) years at KenyaInstitute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognisedInstitution;
(vi) A valid Certificate of Good Conduct from theKenya Police;
(vii) Attended a First-Aid Certificate course lastingnot less than one (1) week from St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute ofHighway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognised Institution;and
(viii) Demonstrated outstanding professional competenceand Integrity in work performance and results.
Duties and Responsibilities
This is the highest grade In this cadre.
Duties and responsibilities will involve driving the assigned vehicle; carryingout routine checks on the vehicle’s cooling, oil, electrical, tyre pressure andbrake systems, etc-detecting and reporting malfunctioning of the vehiclesystems, maintenance of work tickets(s) for vehicle(s) assigned; ensuringsecurity and safety of the vehicle on and off the road, overseeing safety ofthe passengers and/or goods therein, and maintaining cleanliness of thevehicle(s).
In addition, the officer may be required to supervise and guide staff workingunder him/her In a small transport unit.
