Finlays Kenya Import Manager Job.

Finlays is Kenya’s largest agricultural export group employing over 22,000 people and annually exporting
over 300 million stems of flowers, 7 million kilos of vegetables, 26 million kilos of black tea and 3 million kilos of tea extract. The organisation is geographically located in Nairobi, Naivasha, Kericho, Mt. Kenya and Mombasa and works with 1,200 vegetable out growers and 10,000 tea out growers.

A vacancy has arisen for a dynamic professional to fill a fast moving and diverse imports role

Location
The position is based at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, an operation which employs 1,100 people.

The Job
Reporting to the General Manager – Skytrain Ltd, the role embraces a range of commodity and specific categorised import activity which must be efficiently orchestrated at least cost and fastest times.

Other key responsibilities include:
* Developing new business in air and sea imports;
* Liaising with the Kenya Revenue Authority;
* Daily responsibility over transit bond management;
* Planning, scheduling, communicating and assigning tasks to the team and monitoring to completion while ensuring conformance to specifications, standards and schedules.

The person
Ideally, the successful candidate will have 10 years experience with international Sea, Land and Air Importation into Kenya.

With highly developed team working and leadership skills to be able to manage a capable and vibrant team, the successful candidate will require to be a focused self starter with great attention to detail and accountability for sizeable financial exposure.

Also a must will be in-depth knowledge of KRA systems including Tradex and Orbus, understanding of transit bond management while being conversant with all customs regulations.

This role requires a mature individual whose integrity is without reproach and has ability to be flexible, deliver under pressure and sometimes work long hours.
