Safaricom are pleased to announce the following job vacancy in the Service Assurance and Quality Department within the Technology Division.

In keeping with safaricom current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:

Desktop Support Engineer Ref: TECHNOLOGY_DSE_Oct_2011

Reporting to the Desktop Support Manager, the holder will Provide 2nd level support for IT hardware and 
software user support for computing.
* Administration and configuration of IT client hardware, software & IP telephony;
* Resolution of request fulfillment and Hardware System administration;
* Retail shops support; Escalate and follow up on unresolved issues to ensure SLA is met;

* Data backups to ensure service restoration in case of any failure;
* Preventive maintenance of user system to maximize service availability;
* Documentation and Policy implementation;
* Generation of accurate, regular and ad hoc reports on time. 

Minimum requirements

*Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or IT, from a recognize dinstitution or equivalent
* Microsoft certification: MCSE, MCSA, MCITP, ITIL
* CISCO – CCNA
* Nortel
* IP Telephony
